  • Khai Pugh Earns All-American Honors

    Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball player Khai Pugh (Syracuse/Nottingham H.S.) has been named a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Honorable Mention All-American. He is the third player to earn All-American recognition in the history of the Panthers men’s basketball program following Tyseem Lyles (2014) and Jude Princivil (1995).
  • Pugh Voted First-Team All-Region

    In voting done by all the coaches in the region, Tompkins Cortland Community College’s Khai Pugh (Syracuse/Nottingham H.S.) has been named to the NJCAA Region 3 Men’s Basketball All-Region Team. He is the first Panther voted all-region since Kevin Williams in 2015-16, and the first on the first team since Tyseem Lyles in 2013-14.
  • Johnson Named to Region 3 All-Tournament Team

    Sophomore Damari Johnson (Binghamton/Johnson City H.S.) was selected to the NJCAA Region 3 Men's Basketball Championship All-Tournament Team. He led the team in scoring in the semifinal game against top-seeded Herkimer College, going for 27 points while draining a program playoff record seven 3-pointers.
  • Upset Bid Comes Up Short, Panthers Fall in Semifinal

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball season came to an end Saturday in the semifinal round of the NJCAA Region 3 tournament as the Panthers came up short in their bid to upset top-seeded Herkimer College on the Generals’ home court. After leading much of the back-and-forth game, the Panthers just couldn’t finish the game out, falling to Herkimer by a final score of 83-75. Tompkins Cortland, the tournament’s #4 seed, ends the season with a record of 17-9. Herkimer advances to Sunday’s championship game with a record of 26-2.
  • Panthers Top Adirondack to Advance to Regional Semifinal

    After building a big lead, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team held off a hard-charging SUNY Adirondack to pull out a 70-67 win in the quarterfinal round of the NJCAA Region 3 tournament Friday. The Panthers advance to Saturday’s semifinal against top-seeded Herkimer College. The game tips at 1 p.m. at Herkimer.
  • Panthers Win MSAC Championship Over Jefferson

    Coming into Saturday’s Mid-State Athletic Conference men’s basketball championship game against Jefferson, Tompkins Cortland had gone 3-0 in previous championship game appearances. The Panthers remained perfect in the big game, never trailing as they cruised past the Cannoneers, 81-63.  
  • Pugh Voted MSAC Player of the Year; Long and Samuels All-MSAC

    Three Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball players have been voted to the Mid-State Athletic Conference all-conference team, led by MSAC Player of the Year Khai Pugh (Syracuse/Nottingham H.S.). Joining Pugh on the first team was Javonte Long (Harlem/Clayton H.S.) while Marqiis Samuels (Long Island/The Patrick School) earned a place on the second team. It is the second time in program history that three Panthers have been voted all-conference, and the first time since 2009-10 season. Bryan Viscaino (Manhattan/Monsignor Scanlon H.S.) and Damari Johnson (Binghamton/Johnson City H.S.) received Honorable Mention.
  • Panthers Earn #4 Seed in Regional Playoffs

    For the third straight year, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball teams has qualified for the NJCAA postseason. The men are the #4 seed and will take on #5 seed SUNY Adirondack in the NJCAA Region 3 tournament quarterfinal on Friday, March 1. The regional tournament will be hosted by Herkimer College.
  • Schedule Change - Panthers Will Host MSAC Championship

    Tompkins Cortland Community College will now host the Mid-State Athletic Conference men's basketball championship game on Saturday, February 24. Due to the discovery that Genesee Community College is ineligible for the MSAC postseason tournament, the Panthers are now the top seed remaining and have been given a first-round bye. Jefferson Community College is hosting Finger Lakes Community College Friday night for the right to play against the Panthers in MSAC title game.  Saturday's championship game will tip at 1 p.m.
  • Panthers Close Out Regular Season with Huge Output

    The Tompkins Cortland men’s basketball team closed out the regular season in historic fashion Wednesday, racing to a 117-99 win over Onondaga Community College. The win gives the Panthers a record of 15-8 overall and 12-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference, the most conference wins in program history. Onondaga drops to 4-19 overall and 1-13 in the MSAC.
  • Second-Half Run Costs Panthers Chance for Upset of #3 Herkimer
    February 10, 2024
    The Panthers men’s basketball team came back from 10-points down to lead the #3-ranked team in the nation in the second half, but a big run down the stretch powered Herkimer College to 93-67 defeat of the Panthers in Dryden Saturday. The loss drops Tompkins Cortland to 14-8 while Herkimer now stands at 22-1.
  • Panthers Lose at Genesee; Fall Out of First Place in MSAC

    A poor shooting night dropped the Panthers men’s basketball team out of first place in the Mid-State Athletic Conference as Tompkins Cortland fell at Genesee Community College, 72-63 on Wednesday. The loss drops Tompkins Cortland to 14-7 overall and 11-2 in the MSAC. Genesee is now 20-6 overall and 12-1 in conference, clinching the top seed in the upcoming MSAC playoffs.
  • Panthers Drop Road Game to Columbia-Greene

    For just the fourth time this season, the Panthers men’s basketball team was held below 70 points on Saturday. And in each case, the Panthers lost – this time falling to Columbia-Greene Community College, 82-67. The loss drops Tompkins Cortland to 14-6 overall and 14-5 in Region 3. Columbia –Greene is now 8-11.
  • Panthers Grind Out Road Win at Corning
    January 31, 2024
    Four players scored in double figures as the Panthers men’s basketball team picked up a hard-fought 77-75 road win over Corning Community College on Wednesday.  Tompkins Cortland is now 14-5 overall and 11-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference, tied for first place in the MSAC. Corning drops to 6-12 overall and 4-7 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Men's Win Streak Snapped at Six
    January 28, 2024
    A day after big win over a nationally ranked team, the Panthers men’s basketball team came out flat on both ends of the court, dropping a road game to Fulton-Montgomery Community College, 90-62. Tompkins Cortland is now 13-5 on the season. Fulton-Montgomery moves to 12-3.
  • Panthers Beat #12-Mohawk Valley for 6th Straight Win

    The Panthers men’s basketball team earned its sixth-straight win Saturday, knocking off #12-ranked Mohawk Valley Community College 73-63. Tompkins Cortland is now 13-4 on the season while Mohawk Valley drops to 10-5.
  • Panthers Pull Away From Broome for 10th MSAC Win

    An 18-2 run late in the second half blew open a tight game and helped the Panthers men’s basketball team to an 81-69 win over SUNY Broome Thursday. Tompkins Cortland is now 12-4 overall and 10-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference, the first time the Panthers have reached 10 conference wins since their last conference championship in 2013-14. Broome drops to 6-12 overall and 4-7 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Edge Jefferson for Fourth-Straight Win

    The Panthers men’s basketball team built a 13-point lead before holding on for a 70-69 win at Jefferson Community College Sunday. The fourth-straight win moves Tompkins Cortland to 11-4 overall and 9-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Jefferson is now 7-6 overall and 6-4 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Improve to 8-1 in MSAC with Win Over Finger Lakes

    The Panthers men’s basketball team improved to 8-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference with a 77-52 win over Finger Lakes Community College Saturday. The victory improve Tompkins Cortland 10-4 overall while Finger Lakes drops to 4-5 in MSAC and 6-11 overall.
  • Forfeit Win for Panthers Women; Men's Game Time Changed

    Finger Lakes Community College has forfeited the women's basketball game at Tompkins Cortland Community College scheduled for Saturday, January 20. The forfeit will be counted in the conference and regional standings for both teams, but will not change either team's overall record. As a result of the forfeit the Panthers are now 7-4 in Region 3 and 5-3 in Mid-State Athletic Conference, while the overall record remains 6-5.
  • Panthers Control Play in Home Win Over Cayuga

    The Panthers men’s basketball used a balanced attack to take a 93-82 home win over Cayuga Community College Wednesday. Tompkins Cortland improves to 9-4 overall and 7-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Cayuga drops to 1-12 overall and 1-7 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Men Hold On for Win at Hudson Valley

    The Panthers men’s basketball team held on for a 78-77 win at Hudson Valley Community College Sunday. Tompkins Cortland improves to 8-4 overall and 8-3 in regional play. Hudson Valley is now 2-11 overall.
  • Panthers Men Upset on the Road

    The Panthers men’s basketball team was upset at SUNY Adirondack Saturday, falling 65-63 on a buzzer beater. Tompkins Cortland drops to 7-4 overall and 7-3 in regional play. Adirondack is now 4-11 overall and 2-8 in region.
  • Panthers Fall to D-II Monroe is Spring Opener

    After a month off for finals and the holidays, the Panthers women’s basketball team returned to the court Tuesday, hosting Monroe Community College for a non-division match. Monroe, a Division II (scholarship) program in basketball, handed the home team a loss, 74-67. Tompkins Cortland drops to 7-3 on the season; Monroe improves to 15-3.
  • Panthers Come Up Just Short in Final Game of the Semester

    A late rally came up just short for the Panthers on Sunday, as the semester came to a close with a 78-74 loss to Clinton Community College. The defeat snapped a four-game winning streak and leaves the Panthers with a record of 7-2. Clinton is now 8-3 overall.

    Trailing at the half for the first time this year, the Panthers men’s basketball team rallied back in the second half to take a 74-69 win over North Country Community College. The Panthers have now won four straight to improve to 7-1. North Country stands at 6-6.

    The Panthers men’s basketball team kept to its high-scoring ways with an 89-60 win at Finger Lakes Community College on Tuesday. Tompkins Cortland Community College, the leading offensive team in Region 3 with an average of 86.9 points per game, improves to 6-1 overall and in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Finger Lakes falls to 5-6 overall and 3-4 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Men Remain Tied for Top Spot in MSAC

    The Panthers men’s basketball team remained tied for the top spot in the Mid-State Athletic Conference with a 90-85 win over Jefferson Community College Sunday. The Panthers are now 5-1 overall and in the Mid-State Athletic Conference, tied for first place with Genesee Community College. Jefferson drops to 5-2 overall and 4-2 in the MSAC.

    The Panthers men’s basketball team got back on track Saturday with an 80-56 road win over SUNY Broome. Tompkins Cortland is now 4-1 overall and in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome drops to 3-5 overall and 3-3 in the MSAC.
