After tripping up and losing the last time out, the Panthers men's basketball team traveled to Jefferson Community College on Wednesday looking to get back on track. From the opening tip, the Panthers took care of business, rolling to an 88-56 victory. Tompkins Cortland improves to 8-5 overall and 5-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Jefferson is now 3-9 overall and 1-5 in the MSAC.

The Panthers jumped out quickly, scoring 30 points in the opening 10 minutes and holding a 45-24 lead at the half. The margin grew in the second half as ten Panthers got in the scoring column, including four that reached double figures.

Malachi Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Central H.S.) paced the team with 19 points. Kobe Nwosu (Spring Valley/North Rockland H.S.) added 10 points and Israel Guerrido (Bronx/James Monroe H.S.) and Kaleb Nutifafa (Elmsford/Alexander Hamilton H.S.) each finished with 10 points.
