
Ten Tompkins Cortland Community College student-athletes have been honored for their academic excellence by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). All ten were named NJCAA Region 3 Academic All-Region while eight also garnered national NJCAA All-Academic Team honors.
Three students were named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team, which requires a GPA of 3.80-3.99. Dylan Hardy (Monticello/Monticello H.S.), a criminal justice major and member of the TC3 men's basketball team; Justyn Lang (Sidney/Sidney H.S.), a criminal justice major and member of the baseball team; and Cody Sayre (Spencer/Spencer-Van Etten H.S.), a construction and environmental technology major and member of the baseball team.
Five students were named to the NJCAA All-Academic Third Team, which requires a GPA of 3.60-3.79. Louis Elsom (London, England/Glenthorne H.S.), a liberal arts and sciences: general studies major and member of the men's soccer team; Max Hunt (Suffolk, England/Mildenhall College Academy), a recreation leadership major and member of the men's soccer team; Tim Leary (Greece/Northstar Christian Academy), a criminal justice major and member of the baseball team; Logan Meerburg (Whitby, Ont./Saint-Charles-Garnier H.S.), a sport management major and member of the baseball team; and Noboru Shinohara (Tokyo, Japan/Dokkyo Saitama), a business administration major and member of the baseball team.
All eight were also recognized as Region 3 Academic All-Region. Also earning Region 3 recognition were Nate Freelove (Corning/Corning-Painted Post H.S.), a liberal arts and sciences: teacher education major who play soccer and lacrosse, and Emily McCracken (Truxton/Penn Foster Online), a nursing major who played soccer.
