  • Panthers End Season with Opening Round Loss
    February 25, 2025
    After rallying back from a dreadful start, the Panthers women’s basketball team fell just short, losing in the opening round of the NJCAA Region 3 playoffs, 56-52 against Finger Lakes Community College. The Panthers, the #10 seed in the postseason tournament, end the season with a record of 7-13. Finger Lakes advances as the #7 seed with a record of 11-14.

    Both Tompkins Cortland Community College basketball teams have qualified for the NJCAA postseason.
  • Doane Voted to Women's All-MSAC Team

    Tompkins Cortland Community College women's basketball player Cassie Doane (Candor/Owego Free Academy) has been voted to the Mid-State Athletic Conference all-conference team. Doane was voted to the second team by the coaches in the conference. Amyra Portillos (Sandia Park, N.M./Manzano H.S.) received Honorable Mention.

    Despite a record-setting effort from Cassie Doane (Candor/Owego Free Academy), the Panthers women’s basketball team dropped its final regular season game, 60-48 at Genesee Community College. The Panthers drop to 7-12 overall and 5-8 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Genesee is now 7-17 overall and 4-10 in the MSAC.

  • Panthers Hold Broome to 16 Points on Sophomore Day

    For the second time this season, the Panthers women’s basketball team held its opponent under 20 points. Hosting SUNY Broome on Sophomore Day, the Panthers rolled to a 65-16 win to improve to 7-11 overall and 5-7 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome drops to 3-19 overall and 0-13 in the MSAC.
  • Road Loss for Panthers Women

    The Panthers women’s basketball team dropped a road game to Finger Lakes Community College on Saturday, falling 68-49. Tompkins Cortland drops to 6-11 overall and 4-7 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Finger Lakes improves to 10-12 overall and 7-6 in the MSAC.
  • Panther Women Upset Corning
    February 13, 2025
    Great efforts from the entire short-handed team powered the Panthers women’s basketball team to its biggest win of the season, upsetting Corning Community College 54-50 on Thursday.  The Panthers are now 6-10 overall and 4-6 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Corning drops to 10-9 overall and 7-4 in the MSAC.

  • Rally Falls Short in Women's Loss to Cayuga

    The Panthers women’s basketball team fell behind early to Cayuga Community College on Wednesday and despite getting close, could never make it all the way back, losing 55-43. The Panthers are now 5-9 overall and 3-5 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Cayuga is 7-10 overall and also 3-5 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Women Edge Finger Lakes

    Playing with just five available players, the Panthers women’s basketball team pulled out a gritty 43-29 win over Finger Lakes Community College Saturday. The win moves the Panthers to 5-8 overall and 3-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Finger Lakes is now 6-8 overall and 3-4 in the MSAC.
  • Late Rally Comes Up Short for Panthers
    January 18, 2025
    A late rally came up short as the Panther women’s basketball team dropped a 72-63 home game to Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Saturday. The loss leaves the Panthers with a 4-8 on the season. Fulton-Montgomery is now 4-6.
  • Panthers Drop Road Game to Jefferson

    For the second time in a week, the Panther women’s basketball team took the court against nationally ranked Jefferson Community College. Wednesday night’s game, this one at Jefferson, ended the same as last week’s, with the Panthers falling to the Cannoneers. The 78-37 final drops Tompkins Cortland to 4-7 overall and 2-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Jefferson improves to 8-4 overall and 6-0 in the MSAC.

    Despite getting big double-doubles from two players, the Panthers women’s basketball team dropped a road game to Cayuga Community College Saturday, 60-46. Tompkins Cortland is now 3-6 overall and 1-3 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Cayuga improves to 5-8 overall and 2-3 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Snap Four-Game Skid with Win at Broome

    The four-game skid that dated back to before the winter break came to an end Sunday as the Panthers women’s basketball team topped SUNY Broome 51-38. Tompkins Cortland is now 4-6 overall and 2-3 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome falls to 2-9 overall and 0-4 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Host #11 Jefferson in First Game of 2025

    The Panthers women’s basketball team returned from the holiday break to take on #11-ranked Jefferson Community College Thursday in Dryden. The first game in over a month was a tough one for the home team, as Jefferson handed the Panthers a 74-35 defeat. Tompkins Cortland is now 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Jefferson is 6-4 overall and 4-0 in the MSAC.

    The Panthers women’s basketball team dropped its final game of the fall semester, 65-50 at Mohawk Valley Community College on Sunday. The Panthers stand at 3-4 overall and in Region 3. Herkimer is 6-5 overall and 6-2 in region.

    A decisive third quarter cost the Panthers women’s basketball team on Saturday in a 71-42 loss at Herkimer College. Tompkins Cortland is now 3-3 overall and in Region 3. Herkimer is 7-1 overall and 5-1 in region.

    Dressing only five players, the Panthers women’s basketball team controlled the game from the opening tip on Saturday, beating North Country Community College 71-42. Tompkins Cortland is now 3-2 overall. North Country drops to 0-5.
  • Panthers Cruise to Home Win

    The Panthers women’s basketball team got back on track Sunday with a 73-14 home win over SUNY Adirondack. The win snapped a two-game skid and evens Tompkins Cortland’s record at 2-2 overall. Adirondack is now 0-2.
  • Panthers Fall at Hudson Valley
    November 16, 2024
    A close game in the first half got away from the Panthers in the second half as Hudson Valley pulled away for an 85-50 final. The loss drops Tompkins Cortland to 1-2 overall and in Region 3. Onondaga is now 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the region.
  • Middle 20 Minutes Costly in Loss to #7 Onondaga

    The middle 20 minutes of Wednesday’s home game against #7-ranked Onondaga Community College cost the Panthers women’s basketball team any chance of pulling off an upset. The final score of 76-40 leaves Tompkins Cortland with a record of 1-1 overall and in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Onondaga is now 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Roll to Opening Win

    A huge debut for freshman Michaela Jean-Phillippe (Binghamton/Binghamton H.S.) led the Panthers women’s basketball team to a 66-36 season-opening win over Genesee Community College on Saturday. The loss drops Genesee to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference.
