Panthers Cruise to Home Win

The Panthers women's basketball team got back on track Sunday with a 73-14 home win over SUNY Adirondack. The win snapped a two-game skid and evens Tompkins Cortland's record at 2-2 overall. Adirondack is now 0-2.

The Panthers led 25-3 after the first quarter and 46-3 at the half. The home team had four players score in double figures, led by Cassie Doane (Candor/Owego Free Academy) with 23 points. Thefreshman added 15 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.   Amyra Portillos (Sandia Park, N.M./Manzano H.S.) had 15 points and 11 rebounds for another double-double, and while Michaela Jean-Philippe (Binghamton/Binghamton H.S.) and Neroj Barwari (Union-Endicott/Union-Endicott H.S.) finished with 16 and 14 points.

The Panthers next play at North Country Community College on Saturday.
