Panthers Drop Road Game at Herkimer

A decisive third quarter cost the Panthers women's basketball team on Saturday in a 71-42 loss at Herkimer College. Tompkins Cortland is now 3-3 overall and in Region 3. Herkimer is 7-1 overall and 5-1 in region.

The Panthers fell behind early but cut into the deficit in the second quarter, closing the first half down 30-22. The third quarter was all Herkimer, with the home team putting up 33 points and stretching their lead to 63-30 heading into the final ten minutes.

 

Amyra Portillos (Sandia Park, N.M./Manzano H.S.) reached 20 points for the second straight game, followed by Michaela Jean-Philippe (Binghamton/Binghamton H.S.) with 11 points.

The Panthers play at Mohawk Valley Community College Sunday.
