
The four-game skid that dated back to before the winter break came to an end Sunday as the Panthers women's basketball team topped SUNY Broome 51-38. Tompkins Cortland is now 4-6 overall and 2-3 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome falls to 2-9 overall and 0-4 in the MSAC.
The Panthers took an eight-point lead after the first quarter and never looked back, pushing the margin to 29-18 at the half and holding it in double digits the rest of the game.
Cassie Doane (Candor/Owego Free Academy) capped a big weekend with another huge game on the glass, grabbing 16 rebounds while tying for the team lead with 13 points. Amyra Pontillos (Sandia Park, N.M./Manzano H.S.) also netted 13 point with Michaela Jean-Philippe (Binghamton/Binghamton H.S.) next with 12 points. Rylan Robicheaux (Lockport, La./Central Lafourche H.S.) added 11 points for the winners.

The Panthers are on the road again Wednesday, playing at Jefferson Community College.
