  • Panthers Softball Splits Wild Doublheader with Hartwick
    April 28, 2024
    Tompkins Cortland and Hartwick College combined to score 64 runs over the course of a wild doubleheader Sunday, with Hartwick taking the opener, 11-9, in extra innings and the Panthers taking game two, 23-21, in six innings. After the split, Tompkins Cortland stands at 5-13 on the season.

    Costly fielding errors in both games proved too much for the Panthers softball team to overcome Saturday, losing both ends of a doubleheader AT SUNY Adirondack. Tompkins Cortland drops to 4-12 on the season while Adirondack improves to 4-11.

  • Panthers Softball Sweeps Broome for First Wins

    The Panthers softball team got in the win column for the first time in 2024, sweeping a doubleheader from SUNY Broome. The 9-0 and 13-4 wins, both in five innings, leave the Panthers with a record of 2-8 overall and 2-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome is now 3-9 overall and 1-3 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Softball Falls to #4-Ranked Corning

    The Panthers softball team fell behind early in both games against the nation’s #4-ranked team and couldn’t recover, losing 16-1 and 11-3 at Corning Community College on Thursday.  Tompkins Cortland is now 0-8 overall and 0-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference; Corning is 15-11 overall and 5-1 in the MSAC.
  • Weekend Washout for Panthers Softball and Golf

    Panthers softball home weekend has been washed out due to weather and unplayable field conditions. The scheduled Saturday, April 13 doubleheader vs. Onondaga has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 29 at 3 p.m. The Sunday, April 14 doubleheader with Herkimer College has been cancelled.

    The Panthers softball team traveled north to take on Jefferson Community College on Thursday, dropping a doubleheader to a strong Cannoneers squad. The Panthers are now 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference while Jefferson improves to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the MSAC.

    The Panthers softball team held a lead into the fourth inning of both games, but couldn’t finish off the win in either, dropping a home doubleheader against Mohawk Valley Community College on Tuesday. The Panthers are now 0-4 while Mohawk Valley improves to 8-6.

    The Panthers softball team opened the 2024 season Saturday at Monroe Community College. The Panthers showed plenty of early-season rust, but improved as the day went on before ultimately falling 14-1 and 16-8. While Tompkins Cortland is now 0-2, Monroe improves to 7-3.

  • Panthers Softball Information Meeting

    Anyone interested in joining the Panthers softball team in the 2023-24 school year should plan to attend an information meeting on Tuesday, September 5. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in Dryden Mutual Insurance VIP Room on the second floor of the College's athletics facility. Coach Dow will be on hand to go over everything needed to be part of the program.

  • Grover Commits to Panthers Softball
    June 23, 2023
    State finalist Kiara Grover has committed to Tompkins Cortland Community College softball. The versatile athlete from Scio High School signed her NJCAA Letter of Intent to join the Panthers this fall. Grover finished her high school career playing for Scio/Friendship in the NY State Class D Championship Game, the the second year in a row in which she helped lead her team into the New York State Championships Final Four. "Kiara will provide a great presence inside the circle, with great speed, power, and a multitude of pitches," said Panther Coach Ed Dow. "Kiara will also add depth to our lineup and when not in the circle she will give us extra options in the field, too."
  • Foley Earns All-Region Honors

    Freshman Abby Foley (Barton/Tioga H.S.) has been voted to the NJCAA Region 3 Softball All-Region Team. Foley was voted to the second team as a utility player, marking the 31st time a Panther softball player has earned all-region honors, but the first since 2016.

    The Tompkins Cortland softball season ended Tuesday, with the Panthers dropping a doubleheader to Erie Community College, 14-5 and 10-2. Tompkins Cortland ends the year with a record of 1-25 on the year. Erie finishes at 8-12; Adirondack is 7-18.
  • Panthers Snap 43-Game Skid with Win

    For the first time in more than four years, the Tompkins Cortland softball team picked up a victory. The Panthers’ 43-game losing skid, dating back to 2019 and bridging two years lost due to the pandemic, came to an end Sunday with a 10-7 win in the first game of a doubleheader with SUNY Adirondack. The Panthers came up just short of making a sweep, dropping the second game by a score of 7-4. Tompkins Cortland is now 1-23 on the year; Adirondack is 7-18.

    The Panthers softball and baseball games scheduled for Thursday have been called off due to field conditions. The baseball team will look to get back in action Friday at home vs. Erie Community College. The softball team is next scheduled to play Saturday at Onondaga Community College.

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College softball team came painstakingly close to pulling off a fantastic comeback and earning their first win of the season on Tuesday at home. Hosting Finger Lakes Community College, the Panthers lost the opener 17-2 but came back to push the Lakers to the limit in the second game, ultimately losing 10-9. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-20 overall and 0-1 2in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Finger Lakes is 14-16 overall and 6-6 in the MSAC.

The home softball doubleheader with SUNY Adirondack scheduled for Saturday, April 29 has been postponed and is tentatively rescheduled for May 4. A make-up date has been not been set for Sunday's doubleheader vs. Finger Lakes Community College.

Tompkins Cortland is now 0-18 on the season; Hudson Valley, the #5 team in the latest Region 3 coaches poll, improves to 12-15 overall and 10-7 in region.

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College softball team had its biggest offensive output of the season on Saturday, scoring 13 runs in a doubleheader at Genesee Community College. The Panthers lost by scores of 21-4 and 18-9 to fall to 0-14 overall and 0-8 in the MSAC. Genesee is 5-16 overall and 2-4 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Softball Hosts #4 Corning

    One of the top teams in the nation visited Dryden on Thursday for a Mid-State Athletic Conference softball doubleheader. Corning Community College, the defending Region 3 champions and the #4-ranked team in the nation, dominated the Panthers with a sweep by scores of 29-0 and 20-4. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-12 overall and 0-6 in the MSAC. Corning is 20-9 overall and 6-0 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Softball Plays Monroe Tough Before Falling

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College softball team did a lot of things right on Sunday, challenging Monroe Community College in both ends of a Region 3 doubleheader before ultimately falling 10-1 and 12-4. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-10. Monroe is 10-9.

    Playing in Dryden for the first time this year, the Tompkins Cortland Community College softball team couldn’t put any runs across the plate, dropping a doubleheader to Jefferson Community College, 17-0 and 14-0. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-8. Jefferson stands at 9-8.
