Panthers Excellence in Classroom Honored

2022-23 NJCAA All-Academic

Fifteen Tompkins Cortland Community College student-athletes have been honored for their academic excellence by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Region 3. Jonathan Ardila (Bucaramanga, Colombia/New Cambridge School), Madison Camenga (Sherburne/Sherburne-Earlville H.S.), Elizabeth Cobb (Cortland/Cortland Christian Academy), Abby Foley (Barton/Tioga H.S.), Gabby Foley (Barton/Tioga H.S.), Zachary Jacobson (East Amherst/Williamsville East H.S.), Joseph Leonard (Cortland/Cortland H.S.), Caitlin Luzum (Cortland/McGraw H.S.), Logan Nordman (Onondaga/Onondaga H.S.), Marybeth Ortlieb (Cortland/Home School), Sindiswa Pinckney (Dryden/Dryden H.S.), Matt Salerno (Campbell Hill/Goshen H.S.), Blair Wakula (Homer/Homer H.S.), and Karissa Wilbur (McGraw/McGraw H.S.) were all named to the  NJCAA All-Academic Team. They were joined by Leah Williams (Owego/Newark Valley H.S.) as Region 3 Academic All-Region selections.

Ardila (men's soccer) was named to the All-Academic First Team, which is reserved for student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Cobb (women's soccer and softball), Leonard (men's basketball), Jacobson (men's golf), Ortleib (women's soccer and softball), Wakula (men's lacrosse), and Wilbur (women's basketball and softball) each were named to the second team, which requires a GPA of 3.80-3.99. Camenga (women's soccer), Abby Foley (women's basketball and softball), Gabby Foley (women's basketball and softball), Luzum (women's soccer), Pinckney (women's basketball), and Salerno (men's lacrosse) were named to the third team, which requires a GPA of 3.60-3.79.
