The Tompkins Cortland Community College softball team lost both ends of a doubleheader at Mohawk Valley Community College on Tuesday, falling by scores of 9-1 and 20-1. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-6. Mohawk Valley is 7-8.

Game One: Mohawk Valley 9, Tompkins Cortland 1  (5 innings)

Mohawk Valley scored four runs in the first inning, and then added two in the third and three in the fourth. Tompkins Cortland's run came in the fifth, sparked by a double by Lana Thousand (Onondaga/Onondaga H.S.).

Game Two: Mohawk Valley 20, Tompkins Cortland 1  (5 innings)

The nightcap got out of hand early, as Mohawk Valley opened the game with 10 runs in the top of the first inning. Abby Foley (Barton/Tioga H.S.) led off the bottom of the inning with a single and came around to score for the Panthers, but it would be the only run of the game as Mohawk Valley added more runs on to pull away to the 20-1 final.

Foley finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate.
