  • Tammariello Misses Out on All-Region Honors in Playoff Loss

    Patrick Tammariello (Owego/Owego Free Academy) nearly completed a remarkable comeback at the NJCAA Region 3 Golf Championship, bouncing back from an opening-round 92 to card a 76 on day two, forcing a playoff for the final all-region spot. The freshman lost on the second hole to finish just outside all-region. His two-day total of 168 put him tied for 15th place. His 76 was the second best score of the day on Tuesday, and tied for the third best score of the tournament.

    Tompkins Cortland Community College’s Patrick Tammariello (Owego/Owego Free Academy) tied for the best individual score at the Mohawk Valley Invite on Sunday. The freshman carded a 74 to finish in a three-way tie for top score. It was his best finish of the season, coming on the final day of the regular season.

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College golf team scored its best finish of the season on Saturday, placing fifth at the Herkimer Invite. The Panthers shot a season-best 336, led by Patrick Tammariello (Owego/Owego Free Academy) with a 78, good for ninth best individual score on the day.

    Two Tompkins Cortland Community College golfers earned all-conference honors by finishing among the top eight Mid-State Athletic Conference golfers at the Jefferson Invitational on Friday. Patrick Tammariello (Owego/Owego Free Academy) and Cole Dalton (Apalachin/Owego Free Academy) garnered the accolades, giving the Panthers two all-conference golfers for the second time in the least three seasons.

    Tompkins Cortland Community College brought home another seventh-place finish on Saturday, taking part in the Adirondack Invitational at Hiland Park Country Club in Queensbury. The Panthers recorded a score of 398; Niagara won the event with a 318.

    Tompkins Cortland Community College took part in the Hudson Valley Invitational at Normanside Country Club in Delmar on Friday, carding a team score of an even 400. SUNY Niagara won the event with a 325; TC3 finished seventh out of nine teams.

  • Panthers Golf Hosts Regional Opener

    Tompkins Cortland Community College hosted the first golf tournament of the NJCAA Region 3 season on Friday, welcoming golfers from eight colleges to Elm Tree Golf Course in Cortland. The team event was won by SUNY Niagara with a score of 291. TC3 finished in sixth place with a score of 360. The top individual score was a 71 by Adam Firkins of Niagara.

    Two teams and 15 individual Tompkins Cortland Community College student-athletes have been honored for their academic excellence by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The men’s golf and women’s soccer teams were named NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year for having a team GPA of better than 3.0.

    Seventeen Tompkins Cortland Community College student-athletes have been honored for their academic excellence by Region 3 of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). To be eligible, student-athlete need to have a minimum gpa of 3.5 over the course of the 2023-24 academic year.

    Tompkins Cortland Community College golfer Zackary Willson (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) posted a top 30 finish at the 2024 NJCAA Region 3 Championship tournament. The two-day event featured the best golfers in the region, and served as a qualifier for the NJCAA National Championship tournament.

    Tompkins Cortland Community College’s Zackary Willson (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) qualified for the NJCAA Region 3 Championship tournament on the last day of the regular season, carding a 90 at the Onondaga Lazer Invite on Sunday. It was his third score of 90 or better this season, earning him a spot in the postseason tournament. Teammate Andrew Allport (Ithaca/Ithaca H.S.) came up just short of qualifying, posting a 93 on Sunday.

Zackary Willson (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) had his best round of the year, carding an 88 on the course that annually hosts the NJCAA Division III National Championship tournament. Andrew Allport (Ithaca/Ithaca H.S.) also came home with his best score, an even 90.

  • Jacobson Earns Golf All-Region Honors

    Tompkins Cortland Community College golfer Zachary Jacobson (East Amherst/Williamsville East H.S.) earned all-region honors at the NJCAA Region 3 Championships held on Monday and Tuesday at the Glen Oak Golf Club in East Amherst. Jacobson followed up his opening round score of 86 with an 82 and a tournament total of 168, good for 13th place. With the top 15 golfers in the region earning all-region honors, Jacobson’s becomes Tompkins Cortland’s first all-region golfer since 2018. Patrick O’Neill (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) posted scores of 87 and 91 for a tournament score of 178. O’Neill finished in 24th place, seven strokes out of all-region consideration.

    Two Tompkins Cortland Community College golfers took part in Day One of the NJCAA Region 3 Championships on Monday. In addition to crowning the regional champion and individual all-region winners, the two-day tournament hosted by Niagara County Community College at the Glen Oak Golf Club in East Amherst serves as the qualifier for the NJCAA national tournament. Zachary Jacobson (East Amherst/Williamsville East H.S.) carded an 86 on day one, with teammate Patrick O’Neill (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) just a stroke back at 87. At the midway point ofn he tournament, the cut line for all-region consideration was an 85, leaving both Panthers in contention heading into the final round on Tuesday.
