The Tompkins Cortland softball offense was firing on all cylinders Tuesday as the Panthers ended the season with a doubleheader split with Erie Community College. The Panthers Panthers end the seasons with an overall record of 6-16 and a Region 3 record, which includes forfeits, of 9-15.
Despite a two-homer game from Andrea Medovich (Kirkwood/Windsor H.S.), the Panthers softball team couldn’t pull out a win in Thursday’s doubleheader with Onondaga Community College. The losses drop Tompkins Cortland to 5-15 overall and 4-6 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Onondaga is 17-14 overall and 8-2 in the MSAC.
Tompkins Cortland and Hartwick College combined to score 64 runs over the course of a wild doubleheader Sunday, with Hartwick taking the opener, 11-9, in extra innings and the Panthers taking game two, 23-21, in six innings. After the split, Tompkins Cortland stands at 5-13 on the season.
Costly fielding errors in both games proved too much for the Panthers softball team to overcome Saturday, losing both ends of a doubleheader AT SUNY Adirondack. Tompkins Cortland drops to 4-12 on the season while Adirondack improves to 4-11.
The bats went silent for the Panthers softball team Thursday as the team dropped a doubleheader to Hudson Valley Community College, 11-0 and 16-0. Tompkins Cortland is now 4-10 on the season; Hudson Valley is 14-8.
The Panthers softball team made it four straight wins by sweeping SUNY Niagara Sunday, 13-0 and 10-4. Tompkins Cortland is now 4-8 on the season; Niagara drops to 0-6.
The Panthers softball team got in the win column for the first time in 2024, sweeping a doubleheader from SUNY Broome. The 9-0 and 13-4 wins, both in five innings, leave the Panthers with a record of 2-8 overall and 2-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome is now 3-9 overall and 1-3 in the MSAC.
The Panthers softball team fell behind early in both games against the nation’s #4-ranked team and couldn’t recover, losing 16-1 and 11-3 at Corning Community College on Thursday. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-8 overall and 0-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference; Corning is 15-11 overall and 5-1 in the MSAC.
Panthers softball home weekend has been washed out due to weather and unplayable field conditions. The scheduled Saturday, April 13 doubleheader vs. Onondaga has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 29 at 3 p.m. The Sunday, April 14 doubleheader with Herkimer College has been cancelled.
The Panthers softball team traveled north to take on Jefferson Community College on Thursday, dropping a doubleheader to a strong Cannoneers squad. The Panthers are now 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference while Jefferson improves to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the MSAC.
The Panthers softball team held a lead into the fourth inning of both games, but couldn’t finish off the win in either, dropping a home doubleheader against Mohawk Valley Community College on Tuesday. The Panthers are now 0-4 while Mohawk Valley improves to 8-6.
The Panthers softball team opened the 2024 season Saturday at Monroe Community College. The Panthers showed plenty of early-season rust, but improved as the day went on before ultimately falling 14-1 and 16-8. While Tompkins Cortland is now 0-2, Monroe improves to 7-3.
