  • Summer Sports Camps Offered for Basketball and Soccer
    May 12, 2019
    For the 24th year, Tompkins Cortland Community College is once again offering weeklong summer sports camps. The basketball camp for boys will run from July 8 to 12 followed by the basketball camp for girls from July 15 to 19. Soccer camp for boys and girls will run July 22 to 26. All are day camps for ages 8 to 15.

  • Henry Named All-MSAC for Men's Basketball

    For the first time since 2016, Tompkins Cortland Community College has a representative on the Mid-State Athletic Conference men’s basketball all-conference team. Freshman Devonte Henry (Brooklyn/Boys and Girls H.S.) was named to the team in voting done by the coaches from the seven MSAC programs. Eleven players were named to the team. Corning Community College and Onondaga Community College each had three players on the team, Finger Lakes Community College had two, and Tompkins Cortland, Cayuga Community College, and SUNY Broome each had one.
  • Men's Basketball Season Ends at North Country

    A season that looked so promising just a week earlier came to a disappointing end Wednesday when the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team dropped its final game, 95-83, to North Country Community College. After moving into contention for both a conference and regional postseason bid, the Panthers ended the year by dropping the final four games to finish 7-15 overall and 7-14 in Region III. North Country is 8-17 overall and 6-16 in Region III.
  • Buzzer-Beater Knocks Panthers Men from Playoff Contention

    Needing a win to keep their hopes of making the Mid-State Athletic Conference alive, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team fell victim to a buzzer-beating three-pointer that gave Jefferson Community College a 71-70 win over the Panthers. The win keeps Jefferson’s playoff hopes alive, but eliminates Tompkins Cortland from contention. The Panthers end their conference season with a record of 3-9. With one non-conference game left, the Panthers are 7-14 overall. Jefferson is 4-7 in conference and 6-19 overall.
  • Panthers Men's Playoff Chances Take Hit with Loss at Cayuga

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team’s playoff chances took a major hit on Saturday when the Panthers lost at Cayuga Community College 83-78. Entering Saturday, the Panthers, Spartans, and the Jefferson Community College Cannoneers were competing for the fourth and final place in the Mid-State Athletic Conference playoffs. With both Tompkins Cortland and Jefferson losing, Cayuga now has the inside track for the final playoff spot with one game left on the conference schedule for Tompkins Cortland and Cayuga, and two games left for Jefferson. The Panthers play at Jefferson Monday, with the Panthers needing a win and some help to have a chance at making a return trip to the conference playoffs for the first time in four years.
  • Panthers Can't Hold First-Half Lead on Sophomore Night

    A game of big runs ended with the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team on the wrong side of the final score, losing at home to Onondaga Community College 80-73. The loss drops the Panthers to 7-12 overall and 3-7 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Onondaga improves to 17-7 overall and 8-2 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Men Win at Home Over Adirondack

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team made it three wins in the last four games Saturday with a 78-57 victory over visiting SUNY Adirondack. The result moves Tompkins Cortland’s season record to 7-11. Adirondack is now 1-18.
  • Panthers Men Overwhelmed at Conference Leader

    The team leading the Mid-State Athletic Conference standings showed why they are on the top Wednesday. Corning Community College dominated the entire way in beating Tompkins Cortland Community College 98-58. The loss snaps a two-game winning streak for the Panthers and leaves them with a record of 6-11 overall and 3-6 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Corning improves to 14-6 overall and 8-1 in the MSAC.
  • Remarkable Comeback Gives Panthers Men Overtime Win
    February 03, 2019
    A remarkable comeback that saw the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team rally from 18 points down in the second half, and 5 points down in the final 30 seconds left in regulation, ended with the Panthers picking up a 91-86 overtime win over Columbia-Greene Community College. The win give Tompkins Cortland its first two-game winning streak of the season and an overall record of 6-10. Columbia-Greene is now 10-9.
  • Panthers Men Win by One at Broome

    After losing two straight overtime games, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team was ready for a close game to go their way. And that’s exactly what happened Friday. Playing at SUNY Broome, the ball finally bounced their way as the Panthers came out with an 80-79 win. The win improves the Panthers to 5-10 overall and 3-5 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome falls to 2-18 overall and 0-7 in the MSAC.

  • Second-Straight Overtime Loss for Panthers Men

    For the second time in three days, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team gave one of the top teams in the conference as much as it could handle, but for the second straight time, came up short in overtime. On Monday, the Panthers were even with Onondaga Community College at the end of regulation, only to see the Lazers pull away to a 91-83 win in overtime. The loss puts the Panthers at 4-10 overall and 2-5 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Onondaga is now 113-7 overall and 4-2 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Rally But Fall in Overtime

    Tompkins Cortland Community College and Finger Lakes Community College hooked up in a classic men’s basketball game Saturday. The teams went to overtime before the Lakers prevailed, 97-94. The leaves the Panthers with an overall record of 4-9 overall and a Mid-State Athletic Conference record of 2-4. Finger Lakes, the conference leader, is now 14-7 overall and 5-1 in the MSAC.
  • Men Use Balanced Attack to Top Cayuga
    January 23, 2019
    Playing at home against Mid-State Athletic Conference rival Cayuga Community College, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team took advantage of an advantage in team depth to pull away for a 94-82 win on Wednesday. The win improves the Panthers to 4-8 overall and 2-3 in the MSAC while Cayuga drops to 5-6 overall and 1-2 in the MSAC.
  • Postponed Games Rescheduled
    January 18, 2019
    The men's and women's basketball games that were postponed by the storm this past weekend at Onondaga Community College have been rescheduled for Monday, January 28. The women will tip at 5 p.m. followed by the men at 7 p.m.
  • Panthers Drop Home Game to Corning
    January 15, 2019
    Putting four players in double figures scoring wasn’t enough as the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team lost a home game to Corning Community College Tuesday. The 87-76 final drops Tompkins Cortland to 3-8 overall and 1-3 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference while Corning improves to 7-5 overall and 2-0 in the MSAC.

  • Panthers Men Pull Away for Convincing Win Over Broome

    A big second half for the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team blew open a tight game and gave the Panthers a 72-54 win over SUNY Broome Saturday. The win improves Tompkins Cortland to 3-7 overall and 1-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome drops to 2-13 overall and 0-2 in the MSAC.
  • Home Games with Davis College Cancelled

    With the College closed due to inclement weather, the home basketball games scheduled for Thursday, January 10 vs. Davis College have been cancelled. The games will not be rescheduled, meaning the next game for the Panthers will be Saturday, January 12 at home vs. SUNY Broome.
  • Panthers End Semester on Down Note

    The semester ended on a down note for the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team as the Panthers lost to the #5 ranked team in the nation Saturday. Playing at Hudson Valley Community College, the Vikings jumped ahead early and finished the game by handing the Panthers a 92-78 defeat. Tompkins Cortland is 2-7 overall and 2-2 in Region III. Hudson Valley is 10-2 overall and 7-2 in Region III.

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team dropped a tight road game Wednesday, falling 73-70 at Finger Lakes Community College. The Panthers drop to 2-6 overall and 0-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Finger Lakes is 6-4 overall and 1-0 in the MSAC.

    A quick start, solid shooting, and strong rebounding weren’t enough for the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team Saturday as the Panthers came up short in their upset bid against #6-ranked Mohawk Valley Community College. By a final score of 86-66, the Panthers have now lost three straight to fall to 2-5 overall and 2-4 in Region III. Mohawk Valley is 9-1 overall and 6-1 in Region III.
  • Panthers Lose on Road for First Time

    Heading into Thursday, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball season had a surprising footnote to their 2-3 record: the Panthers had lost all their home games and won all their road games. Hitting the road for the third time this season, the Panthers looked to keep that unexpected streak intact with a Region III game at Fulton-Montgomery Community College. Unfortunately for the visitors, the luck turned as the Panthers lost 90-63, leaving the Panthers with a record of 2-4 overall and 2-3 in Region III. Fulton-Montgomery is now 6-1 overall and 5-1 in Region.
  • Wild Second Half Does in Panthers Men

    A wild second half that saw the two teams combine to score 111 points ended with the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team on the wrong end of a 97-85 loss to Jefferson Community College Tuesday night. The loss leaves the Panthers record at 2-3 overall, 2-2 in Region III, and 0-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. It was the first win of the year for the Jefferson Cannoneers who now stand at 1-8 overall, 1-5 in Region, and 1-0 in the MSAC.
  • Overtime Win for Panthers Men's Basketball

    After seeing a 16-point lead evaporate in the second half, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team got a clutch offensive rebound and basket with just eight seconds left in overtime to pull out an 86-85 win at Clinton Community College Saturday. The win evens the Panthers overall record at 2-2 while moving to 2-1 in Region III. Clinton is 1-4 overall and 0-4 in region.
  • Winter Weather Forces Schedule Changes

    With the College closing due to the weather, Friday's scheduled games at North Country Community College have been postponed. The Panthers and Saints will play the makeup games on Wednesday, February 20. Women at 5 p.m. and the men following at 7 p.m. Saturday's games at Clinton Community College are still on, but with new start times. The women will tip at 2 p.m. while the men will follow at 4 p.m.
  • Panthers Can't Keep Up with Nation's #4 Team

    A hot-shooting Herkimer College handed the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team a 93-60 defeat Tuesday in Dryden. The Panthers fall to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in Region III. Herkimer is now 4-1 both in region and overall.
  • Men Put Together Complete Game in Win

    In their season opener, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team saw 30 minutes of strong play undone in the final ten minutes of the game. It appears the lesson of needing to finish was learned. Playing at Schenectady County Community College Tuesday, the Panthers put together a full 40 minutes in a convincing 79-41 win. Both teams are now 1-1 on the year.
  • Panthers Can't Hold Big Lead, Lose in Final Seconds

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team saw a 23-point second half slip away Thursday in a season-opening 82-80 loss to Jamestown Community College. It was also the first game of the year for Jamestown, a Division II team.
