Putting four players in double figures scoring wasn't enough as the Tompkins Cortland Community College men's basketball team lost a home game to Corning Community College Tuesday. The 87-76 final drops Tompkins Cortland to 3-8 overall and 1-3 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference while Corning improves to 7-5 overall and 2-0 in the MSAC.

The first half was back-and-forth with eight lead changes. Corning had the last one, moving ahead 38-35 at the half. Tompkins Cortland opened the second half with a basket to pull within a point, but the Panthers couldn't make it all the way back. Corning slowly pulled away, eventually pushing the lead to 14 points late in the game. The final was the result of a 49-41 second-half scoring advantage for the Red Barons.

Devonte Henry (Brooklyn/Boys and Girls H.S.) scored 24 points while pulling down 9 rebounds, both team bests. Omari Lane (Newburgh/Newburgh Free Academy) poured in 17 points and Jaiden Allen (Marlboro/Marlboro H.S.) tossed in 11. Shareef Ali (Queens/Martin Van Buren H.S.) posted 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.

The Panthers head to Syracuse to play at Onondaga Community College Saturday.
