Tompkins Cortland Hosts MSAC Championships

The Mid-State Athletic Conference cross country championships were hosted by Tompkins Cortland Community College Saturday. SUNY Broome won the team titles on both the men's and women's side while Broome's Lucas Baker was the individual winner on the men's side (17:58) and Leah Lloyd from Finger Lakes Community College was the top finisher on the women's side (21:32).  

For the Panthers, Ariahna Metzler (Cincinnatus/Cincinnatus H.S.) earned all-conference honors with a 5th place finish, covering the 5k course in 26:38. Lila Stone (Groton/Groton H.S.) finished 6th with a time of 27:58.

On the men's side, Elliott Holland (Watkins Glen/Watkins Glen H.S.) finished in 20:41 good for 18th place. Elijah Griep (Groton/Groton H.S.) came in 29th with a time of 22:22 and Dowain Geesey (Lansing/Lansing H.S.) came in 32nd with a time of 23:04.

Next up for the Panthers are the Region 3 championships, hosted by Finger Lakes Community College on Oct. 30.
