Panthers Drop Home Finale

The Tompkins Cortland Community College volleyball team dropped its home finale Tuesday, falling in straight sets to Jefferson Community College 25-7, 25-12, 25-15. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-17 overall and 0-5 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Jefferson is 17-11 overall and 4-2 in the MSAC.

All six starters contributed during the match, but the Panthers couldn't keep up with the Cannoneers, falling behind early in each set. Amanda Green (Lansing H.S./Lansing) finished with 12 digs and three assists. Ashley Smith (Lansing H.S./Lansing) had five kills and two digs and Madison Johnstone (Liberty H.S./Liberty) had four digs, three kills, and two blocks. Tiffanie White (George Washington Carver H.S./Queens) had six digs and Zira Negrin-Colon (East New York Transit Tech/Brooklyn) had five and two assists. Jasmine Pooler (Moravia H.S./Moravia) added four digs.

The Panthers have two dates left on the schedule. This weekend the team will take part in a Region III Pod at Monroe Community College and then finish the season Tuesday at Cayuga Community College.
