McDaniel Returns to Women's Soccer Sidelines

Women's Soccer Head Coach
Mick McDaniel

The winningest coach in Tompkins Cortland Community College women's soccer history is returning to the sideline. Mick McDaniel will once again serve as head coach for the program that he led to the NJCAA postseason in each of the seven seasons he served as head coach. He takes over for Megan Brunkhorst, who stepped down after one season.

McDaniel, the College's Director of Athletics and Recreation, led the Panthers to a combined record of 81-41-4 from 2005 to 2011. His teams won the Mid-State Athletic Conference twice and he was named Coach of the Year by the MSAC, NJCAA Region 3, and NSCAA Northeast Region. He was very successful in developing players: 31 earned all-conference honors, 24 were named all-region, and 6 garnered All-American recognition.

Prior to his first run coaching the women's soccer team, McDaniel was the original coach of Tompkins Cortland's men's soccer program. He led the men for a total of 13 seasons, helping the Panthers to the first two conference championships in program history. He also coached the College's golf team for more than 20 seasons, coaching two national champions during his tenure. He holds the distinction of being the only coach in College history to win conference championships in multiple sports, having done so in all three sports.
