Megan Brunkhorst has been named the new head women's soccer coach at Tompkins Cortland Community College. Brunkhorst, the 7th head coach in the 26-year history of the program, will lead the return of a program that last took the field in 2019.
Brunkhorst has been around soccer for most of her life. A goalkeeper in high school and college in Minnesota, Brunkhorst is looking forward to sharing her love of the game with her players. "I have a huge passion for the sport and I'm excited to share that passion with our student-athletes," said Brunkhorst, who most recently coached at the high school level at South Seneca High School. "I want to get this program back off the ground, and create a solid, family-vibe to build upon."
She takes over a program that was paused the last two season due to the lingering impacts of the pandemic. Prior to 2020, the Panthers had advanced to the NJCAA Region 3 playoffs in 13 of 15 years, including a stretch of 11 straight years.
