Panthers Lead Entire Way in Home Win

The Tompkins Cortland Community College women's basketball team jumped out early and never trailed in beating SUNY Adirondack 65-39 in Dryden on Saturday. The Panthers are now 5-5 overall and 4-3 in regional play. Adirondack falls to 1-10 overall and 1-7 in region.

The home team scored the first 13 points of the game, and held the visitors without a basket from the floor while running to an 18-4 lead after the first quarter. The lead continued to grow the rest of the game, with the Panthers outscoring the Timberwolves in each quarter.

Karissa Wilbur (McGraw/McGraw H.S.) led all scorers with 19 points while adding game-highs of six assists and four steals. Amarionah Dixon (Elmira/Elmira H.S.) had her sixth double-double of the season, putting up 14 points and grabbing 18 rebounds. Lauren Gulini (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) added 10 points and Sindiswa Pinckney (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) just missed a double-double of her own with nine points and nine rebounds.

The Panthers wrap up the weekend homestand by hosting Hudson Valley Community College Sunday.
