With five players scoring in double figures, the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's basketball team ran away with a win in the home opener, topping Elmira College JV 76-52. The Panthers improve to 2-2 on the season.

The visitors got on the board first, but when Madison Kelly (Moravia/Moravia H.S.) drained a 3-pointer to put the Panthers ahead 8-6 midway through the first quarter, the Panthers had a lead they would not relinquish. A 12-0 run helped the Panthers hold a 23-14 lead after one quarter, and a 17-7 second quarter stretched the margin to 40-21 at the half. The lead continued to grow in the second half, peaking at 27 points before settling at the 76-52 final margin.

Amarionah Dixon (Elmira/Elmira H.S.) led the Panthers with 18 points, coming up a single rebound short of a double-double. Karissa Wilbur (McGraw/McGraw H.S.) finished with 13 points and Kelly ended with 12 points. Both Lauren Gulini (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) and Simone Smith (Ithaca/Ithaca H.S.) tossed in 10 points. Smith and Kelly tied for the team lead with four assists, and Wilbur had a team-best six steals.
