The Tompkins Cortland Community College women's basketball team picked up its first win of the season in convincing fashion, rolling past Corning Community College 62-33. The Panthers are now 1-1 overall and in the Mid-State Athletic Conference.
The Panthers controlled the game from the start, running out to a 15-4 lead after one quarter and 16-13 at the half. Three player scored in double-figures with Amarionah Dixon (Elmira/Elmira H.S.) at the top with 17 points to go with 13 rebounds. Madison Kelly (Moravia/Moravia H.S.) just missed a double-double of her own with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Karissa Wilbur (McGraw/McGraw H.S.) went for 12 points and 8 rebounds.
Looking ahead
The Panthers have a long break heading into the Thanksgiving break, with their next game coming November 29 at Jefferson Community College.
