Playing on the road against one of the top teams in the region, the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's basketball team put up a strong fight before fading in the final quarter, ultimately losing by an 81-52 final. The Panthers fall to 1-2 overall and in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Jefferson improves to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the MSAC.
Playing for the first time in 12 days, the Panthers trailed 17-10 after the first quarter before posting a strong second quarter to pull within 35-30 at the half. Jefferson started to pull away in the third, taking a 57-42 lead into the fourth. Foul trouble caught up with the Panthers in the final period as the Cannoners pulled away to seal the win.
Karissa Wilbur (McGraw/McGraw H.S.) and Amarionah Dixon (Elmira/Elmira H.S.) led the Panthers with 14 points each.
