The Panthers men's basketball team earned its sixth-straight win Saturday, knocking off #12-ranked Mohawk Valley Community College 73-63. Tompkins Cortland is now 13-4 on the season while Mohawk Valley drops to 10-5.

The game was tight from the start, with a first half that featured six lead changes with neither team leading by more than four points. Despite shooting just 26% from the floor over the first 20 minutes, the Panthers trailed by just one at the break, 32-31. The final lead change came just 90 seconds into the second half when Bryan Viscaino (Manhattan/Monsignor Scanlon H.S.) made a layup to put the home team ahead 38-37. The lead grew the rest of the way, peaking at 14 points before settling in with the ten-point margin.

The Panthers bounced back from the cold shooting of the first half to connect on 58% in the second half. Khai Pugh (Syracuse/Nottingham H.S.) led all scorers with 23 points to go along with 8 assists and 7 rebounds. Kobe Nwosu (Spring Valley/North Rockland H.S.) netted a career-high 19 points while pulling down nine boards and Javonte Long (Harlem/Clayton H.S.) had 18 points with 8 rebounds and 6 assists.
