
The Panthers men's basketball team got back on track Saturday with an 80-56 road win over SUNY Broome. Tompkins Cortland is now 4-1 overall and in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome drops to 3-5 overall and 3-3 in the MSAC.
After seeing its three-game winning streak come to an end last time out, the Panthers took a 41-34 halftime lead and kept adding to it in the second half. Three different Panthers scored in double figures, with both Bryan Viscaino (Manhattan/Monsignor Scanlon H.S.) and Khai Pugh (Syracuse/Nottingham H.S.) each posting a double-double. Viscaino went for 23 points and 11 rebounds, adding 4 steals and an assist. Pugh had his fifth double-double of the year with 22 points and 11 rebounds, adding 5 assists and 2 steals. Marqiis Samuels (Long Island/The Patrick School) tossed in 16 points while handing out 4 assists and swiping 3 steals.

The Panthers are right back at it on Sunday, hosting Jefferson Community College in a game rescheduled from last week.
