Turnovers and fouls proved to be too much to overcome as the Tompkins Cortland Community College men's basketball lost at home to Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Sunday, 81-72. Tompkins Cortland falls to 9-9 while Fulton-Montgomery improves to 11-3.

The visiting Raiders took the lead early in the first half and pushed the margin to 12 points at the half, 42-30. The Panthers made several runs in the second half, pulling within two points with nine minutes left before seeing the visitors pull away for the win.

For the game, the Panthers turned the ball over 20 times, helping Fulton-Montgomery enjoy a 28-13 advantage in points off turnovers. That, combined with taking 13 more free throws, proved to be enough for the Raiders to leave Dryden with the win.

Makai Reed (Syracuse/Syracuse Academy of Science) led the Panthers in scoring with 17 points. Joel Davis (Watertown/Watertown H.S.) had another double-double, his tenth of the season, with 12 points and 16 rebounds. Damari Johnson (Binghamton/Johnson City H.S.) added 12 points and Cristian Rosa (Yonkers/Lincoln H.S.) had six assists.
