Panthers Win Third Straight

The Tompkins Cortland Community College men's basketball team picked up its third straight win with an 80-64 victory over SUNY Broome on Thursday. Tompkins Cortland is now 9-7 overall and 7-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome is 3-13 overall and 3-6 in the MSAC.

The lead was just two points at the half, 35-33, but the Panthers stretched things out in the second half. Four players scored in double figures, with two posting double-doubles. Damari Johnson (Binghamton/Johnson City H.S.) was at the top of the scoring sheet with 20 points, while also pulling down 11 rebounds. Deamontae Riley (Buffalo/Burgard H.S.) poured in 16 points while just missing the double-double with eight rebounds. Dayrien Franklin (Mastic/Center Moriches H.S.) put up 15 points and four assists and Joel Davis (Watertown/Watertown H.S.) had a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds.

The Panthers play at Mohawk Valley Community College on Saturday.
