The Tompkins Cortland Community College men's basketball team dropped to 1-1 on the season with a 73-69 overtime loss to Cayuga Community College on Saturday. Cayuga is now 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference.
The game was tight the entire way, with a 24-24 tie at halftime and 57-57 deadlock after regulation. The overtime period saw the home team outscore the Panthers 16-12 to take the win.
Makai Reed (Syracuse/Syracuse Academy of Science) had a big game for the Panthers, pouring in 27 points while pulling down 5 rebounds. Joel Davis (Watertown/Watertown H.S.) had another double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, adding 4 blocks and 4 steals to his line.
