The season-worst losing streak hit five games for the Tompkins Cortland Community College men's basketball team Wednesday with a 76-57 loss at Corning Community College. Tompkins Cortland is now 7-9 overall and 5-6 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Corning is 10-7 overall and 5-4 in the MSAC.

The home-standing Red Barons came out hot from the floor, jumping to an early lead that grew to 39-21 at the half. The Panthers settled things down in the second half, but were never able to work their way back into the game.

Marven Louissaint (Brooklyn/Erasmus Hall H.S.) and Michael Sinclair (Brooklyn/Academy for College Prep and Career Exploration) each had 10 points for the Panthers.

Looking ahead

The Panthers are back home on Saturday to host SUNY Adirondack at 1 p.m. It's the annual Sophomore Appreciation Game for the Panthers, with second-year players honored prior to the game.
