The Tompkins Cortland Community College men's basketball team fell back to .500 on the season with a 51-49 loss at SUNY Broome on Saturday. Tompkins Cortland is now 7-7 overall and 5-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome is 3-12 overall and 1-7 in the MSAC.

Just eight days after posting a close win over the Hornets in Dryden, the Panthers came up just short of the season sweep on Saturday. Trailing 30-25 at the half, the Panthers fought to the end before losing by a basket.

Justin Sykes (Harlem/Lyons Community School) and Deamontae Riley (Buffalo/Burgard H.S.) each scored 10 points to pace the offense. Emond Frazier (Center Moriches/Center Moriches H.S.) pulled down a team-best 15 rebounds.

Looking ahead

The Panthers travel to Syracuse to take on Onondaga Community College.
