The road was unkind to the Panthers on Thursday as the team traveled to Genesee Community College and lost both ends of a doubleheader. TC3 is now 8-30 overall and 5-17 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Genesee improves to 30-18 overall and 17-5 in conference.
Game One: Genesee 12, Tompkins Cortland 1 6 innings
The Panthers were held to just two hits – a single by Dominic Zona (Rochester/Greece Arcadia H.S.) and a double by Talfourd Wynne (Philadelphia/Indian River H.S.). Wynne scored the lone run for the Panthers in the sixth inning, coming in when Noboru Shinohara (Tokyo, Japan/Dokkyo Saitama) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Shinohara finished the game with three plate appearances – one walk and hit by pitch twice.
Game Two: Genesee 11, Tompkins Cortland 1 5 innings
The second game only went five innings, but the Panthers again scored their lone run in the last frame. The run came in after Cody Sayre (Spencer/Spencer-Van Etten H.S.) singled, with Justyn Lang (Sidney/Sidney H.S.) advancing and then coming in on a Genesee error.
The Panthers totaled five hits in game two, all singles. Joining Sayre and Lang in the hit column was Aiden Huften (Union-Endicott/Union-Endicott H.S.), Evan Shank (Cortland/Cortland H.S.), and Eli Johnston (Cody, Wyo./Cody).

The Panthers close out the season with a pair of doubleheaders against nationally ranked Niagara County Community College. The teams are scheduled to play at Niagara on Saturday and in Dryden on Sunday.
