Panthers Drop Pair at Erie on Sunday

Sunday was a tough day of baseball for the Panthers as the team lost both ends of a doubleheader at Erie Community College. TC3 drops to 8-26 overall and 4-16 in the Region 3 West Division. Erie improves to 25-21 overall and 15-8 in the West Division.

Game One: Erie 13, Tompkins Cortland 0   5 innings

The Panthers couldn't get any offense going in game one, managing just three baserunners on a walk and two hits. Erie put eight runs on the board in the second inning, and then put it out of reach with four in the fourth.

Game Two: Erie 18, Tompkins Cortland 8   5 innings

Offense wasn't a problem in game two, as the Panthers pounded out 11 hits, including a grand slam by Aiden Huften (Union-Endicott/Union-Endicott H.S.). Julian Poleon (Brooklyn/Abraham Lincoln H.S.), Jason Winstanley (Lewiston/Lewiston-Porter H.S.), and Hunter Bola (St. Cloud, Fla./Tohopekaliga H.S.) each had two hits, including a double.

The Panthers return home to host Finger Lakes Community College on Tuesday.
