
Four sophomores on the Tompkins Cortland Community College baseball team have received recognition by the Mid-State Athletic Conference in all-conference voting. Frank Marra (Millstone Township, N.J./Allentown) made the all-MSAC team in voting done by the coaches from the seven teams in the conference. Collin Schneider (Utica/Notre Dame), Nazier Smith (Williamsport, Penn./St. John Neumann Regional Academy), and Kannon VanDuzer (Sayre, Pa./Sayre Area H.S.) each received Honorable Mention.
Marra split time between the infield and outfield, spending most of his time at shortstop. He led the team in hitting with 33 hits and a .351 batting average. He was also tops in walks with 18, on-base percentage at .483, and stolen bases with 14.
Schneider was the team's top pitcher, logging the most innings. His top performance came in a complete game shutout of Broome, where he allowed just two hits and struck out three over seven innings.
Smith led the team in slugging percentage at.500 and was second in batting average at .333. He also posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, going errorless while fielding 40 chances in the outfield.
VanDuzer, a 2023 all-MSAC selection, was fourth on the team in innings pitched. At the plate, he led the team in RBI with 16 and was third in average at .311 and slugging at .392.
