The Panthers baseball team put together a big rally to force extra innings, but couldn't finish the comeback as Jamestown Community College completed a doubleheader sweep of the Panthers, 12-1 in the opener and 11-10 in extra innings in game two. Tompkins Cortland is now 5-23 overall and 5-19 in the West Division. Jamestown is 12-21 overall and 11-13 in the West Division.

Game One: Jamestown 12, Tompkins Cortland 1  (5 innings)

The Panthers scored first with a single run in the top of the first, but Jamestown erupted for nine runs in the bottom of the second. The Jayhawks added three more in the third to provide the final margin.

Game Two: Jamestown 11, Tompkins Cortland 10  (8 innings)

Jamestown jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings, and held a 6-1 advantage after five innings. Three runs by the Panthers in the sixth cut the deficit to 6-4, but the Jayhawks put four more up in the bottom of the frame to take a 10-4 lead into the seventh.

Trailing by six, the first six Panthers to come to the plate reached, thanks to three walks, two hit-by-pitch, and one single. All six would come around to score, with the last two scoring on a two-out, two-RBI single by Bradley Addicott (Trumansburg/Charles O. Dickerson H.S.). With the score now tied, the Panthers held Jamestown off the board in the bottom of the seventh to send the game to extras.

The eighth was scoreless for the Panthers, but Jamestown put their first two on base to open the bottom of the inning. After an out and intentional walk, Jamestown delivers a walk-off single to end the game in the eighth.
