Panthers Baseball Drops Two at Jefferson

A rough day at the plate and in the field led to a pair of losses on Saturday as the Panthers baseball team fell at Jefferson Community College. The Panthers committed five errors in each game and totaled just seven hits in the two games combined, losing 8-3 and 10-6. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-4 on the year, and Jefferson is 2-2.

Game One: Jefferson 8, Tompkins Cortland 3  

The Panthers managed just three hits in the opener, with Cody Sayre (Spencer/Spencer-Van Etten H.S.) , Dan Mrowinski (Syracuse/Solvay H.S.), and Frank Marra (Millstone Township, N.J./Allentown) each recording a single.

Game Two: Jefferson 10, Tompkins Cortland 6

Sayre and Rowen Dankert (Cortland/Cortland H.S.) paced the offense in game two, with Sayre going 2-for-4 with two RBI and Dankert going 2-for-3 with a double and one run driven in.
