Panthers Swept at Niagara

The road wasn't kind to the Tompkins Cortland Community College baseball team Thursday as the Panthers dropped a doubleheader to Niagara County Community College, 11-1 and 10-0. Tompkins Cortland is now 3-16 overall and 3-14 in the West.

Game One: Niagara 11, Tompkins Cortland 1  (5 innings)

The game was close until Niagara exploded for six runs to end the game in the fifth inning. The lone run for the Panthers came in the fourth inning when Kannon VanDuzer (Sayre, Penn./Sayre Area H.S.) doubled and then came around to score on a single by Mitch Shipman (Dryden/Dryden H.S.).

Game Two: Niagara 10, Tompkins Cortland  (5 innings)

In the nightcap, the Niagara pitcher overmatched the Panthers hitters, not allowing a hit and striking out 13 in five innings.

The Panthers head to Sanborn on Thursday for a doubleheader with Niagara.
