
The Tompkins Cortland baseball team dropped a doubleheader at Erie Community College on Sunday, 23-3 and 11-1. Tompkins Cortland is now 4-28 overall and 2-24 in Region 3 West Division. Erie is 41-10-1 overall and 26-2 in the West Division.
Game One: Erie 23, Tompkins Cortland 3 (5 innings)
Six different Panthers collected hits in the opener, with Shane Smith (Groton/Groton H.S.) recording the lone extra-base hit and RBI. Jacob Bogacz (Morrisville/Morrisville-Eaton H.S.), Dylan Higgins (Trumansburg/Charles O. Dickerson H.S.), Eli Gordon (Ithaca/Ithaca H.S.), Jordan Shortsleeve (Cortland/Cortland H.S.), and Dan Caverly (Farmington/Victor H.S.) each had one safety in the loss.
Game Two: Erie 11, Tompkins Cortland 1 (6 innings)
The Panthers managed just four hits in game two, with Isaiah Daniels (Atlanta, Ga./Hampton H.S.) going 2-for-3. Parker Stein (Spencerport/Spencerport H.S.) and Shortsleeve had the other hits for the Panthers.
