  • Record Signs to Join Panthers in 2019-20

    Panthers Softball Head Coach Maranda Kinsman announced Reilly Record has signed her NJCAA National Letter of Intent to play for the Panthers. The Cortland High senior is expected to play both softball and basketball for the College during the 2019-20 seasons.

  • Summer Sports Camps Offered for Basketball and Soccer

    For the 24th year, Tompkins Cortland Community College is once again offering weeklong summer sports camps. The basketball camp for boys will run from July 8 to 12 followed by the basketball camp for girls from July 15 to 19. Soccer camp for boys and girls will run July 22 to 26. All are day camps for ages 8 to 15.

    Ashley Shortsleeve has signed her NJCAA National Letter of Intent to play for the Panthers. The Cortland High standout will play both softball and basketball for the College while enrolling in the General Studies program with plans to ultimately pursue a four-year degree in physical education.
  • Day Voted One of the Best in Region III

    Tompkins Cortland Community College sophomore Taylor Day (Brooktondale/Ithaca H.S.) has been voted one of the best players in the region. In voting by the coaches in the NJCAA Region III, Day was the seventh highest vote getter, earning her second team All-Region honors. It is the first time Day has earned all-region recognition and the ninth time a Panther has been honored in the history of the women’s basketball progra
  • Day and Jeffrey Named All-MSAC

    Tompkins Cortland Community College sophomore Taylor Day (Brooktondale/Ithaca H.S.) and freshman Shantasia Jeffrey (Harlem/Curtis H.S.) have been named to the Mid-State Athletic Conference all-conference team. The duo are among the ten players selected by the coaches from the seven MSAC programs. Ten players were named to the team. Conference champion Jefferson Community College placed three players on the team, followed by two from Tompkins Cortland and Onondaga Community College. SUNY Broome, Cayuga Community College, and Corning Community College each placed one player on the team.
  • Panthers Eliminated from NJCAA Playoffs

    A back-and-forth game that saw the lead change hands ten times saw the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team on the wrong end of the last lead change as the Panthers season came to an end with a 74-65 loss at Fulton-Montgomery Community College Tuesday. The NJCAA Region III tournament defeat ends the season for the Panthers, the tournament’s #6 seed, with an overall record of 9-12. Fulton-Montgomery, the #3 seed, advances to the regional semifinal round.
  • Cold-Shooting Panthers Beaten in Conference Semfinals

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team picked a bad time for one of its worst offensive games of the season. Taking on #2-seed Jefferson Community College in the semifinal of the Mid-State Athletic Conference postseason tournament, the #3-seed Panthers shot just 24.6% from the floor and lost 81-51 to the Cannoneers. Jefferson advances to the MSAC championship game Sunday against Onondaga. Tompkins Cortland now looks ahead to the NJCAA Region III playoffs.
  • Panthers Earn #6 Seed in NJCAA Region III Tournament

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team is heading back to the NJCAA Region III playoffs, earning the #6 seed and an opening round game against #3 Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Tuesday in Johnstown. The winner will advance to the regional semifinal on Saturday, with the championship game scheduled for Sunday, March 3.
  • Panthers Earn #3-Seed for MSAC Postseason Tournament

    For the fourth-straight season, the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball program has qualified for the Mid-state Athletic Conference postseason tournament. The Panthers qualified by finishing the regular season in third place in the conference with an MSAC record of 7-5. The Panthers will play #2-seed Jefferson Community College in the conference semifinal Saturday at 2 p.m. The tournament is hosted by top-seed Onondaga Community College. Onondaga will play #4-seed Corning Community College in the other semifinal game Saturday. The championship game will be Sunday at noon at Onondaga.
  • Day Sets Three-Pointer Record in Regular Season Finale

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team closed out the regular season with a good tune-up for the playoffs, challenging the nation’s #6-ranked team before eventually falling 76-59 at North Country Community College. The Panthers end the regular season with an overall mark of 9-10 and a Region III record of 9-9. North Country is 21-2 overall and 13-1 in Region III.
  • Slow Start Does in Panthers Women on the Road

    A slow start put the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team into a deep hole the Panthers weren’t able to climb out of, losing at Jefferson Community College 74-65 Monday. The loss ends the Mid-State Athletic Conference regular season for the Panthers with a record of 7-5 in conference. The Panthers are now 9-9 overall with one non-conference game left before the playoffs. Jefferson is 8-3 in the MSAC and 14-6 overall.
  • Panthers Women Win at Cayuga
    February 16, 2019
    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team clinched no worse than a #3-seed in the upcoming Mid-State Athletic Conference playoffs with a 67-58 win at Cayuga Community College Saturday. With one conference game left in the regular season, the Panthers are currently in third place in the MSAC with a record of 7-4 in conference and 9-8 overall. A win in their final MSAC game on Monday at Jefferson Community College would move the Panthers up to the #2-seed for the playoffs. Regardless of whether they are the #2 or #3-seed, the Panthers will open the MSAC playoffs against Jefferson next weekend, with the tournament being played at top-seed Onondaga Community College. In addition to the Monday’s conference game at Jefferson, the Panthers have a non-conference game at North Country Community College on Wednesday left on their regular season schedule.
  • Panthers Honor Sophomores for Home Finale

    On the night the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team honored the team’s three sophomores, the Panthers ran up against one of the top teams in the nation, losing at home to #4-ranked Onondaga Community College 77-54 on Wednesday. The loss leaves the Panthers with a record of 6-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference and 8-8 overall. Onondaga, the first-place team in the MSAC, is 10-0 in conference and 19-5 overall.
  • Panthers Women Closing In On Playoff Spot with Road Win

    Twenty points from Macy Boice (Homer/Homer H.S.) and a double-double from Shantasia Jeffrey (Harlem/Curtis H.S.) helped lead the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team to a 65-56 win at Corning Community College Wednesday. The win goes a long ways towards clinching a fourth-straight Mid-State Athletic Conference playoff appearance for the Panthers. With three games left on the conference schedule, the Panthers are in third place in the MSAC with a record of 6-3 in the MSAC and 8-7 overall. Corning is currently in fourth place with a mark of 4-5 in the MSAC and 7-11 overall. SUNY Broome is in fifth place with a record of 3-6. The top four teams make the conference playoffs.

    Struggling on the offensive end in the third quarter, the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball needed a big fourth quarter to rally for a 68-66 win over SUNY Broome Friday night. The comeback leaves the Panthers with an overall record of 7-7 and a mark of 5-3 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome is now 8-12 overall and 3-4 in the MSAC.

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball winning streak ended on Monday when the Panthers lost to #5-ranked Onondaga Community College 86-58. The road loss was the first loss for the Panthers since December 8, a span that saw four straight wins. Tompkins Cortland is now 6-7 overall and 4-3 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Onondaga is 15-5 overall and 6-0 in the MSAC.

    Another balanced effort produced another comfortable win on Saturday for Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team. The Panthers took control late in the first quarter and cruised to a 70-55 win over Finger Lakes Community College to improve to 6-6 overall and 4-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Finger Lakes drops to 6-11 overall and 1-5 in the MSAC.
  • Third-Straight Win for Panthers Women

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team picked up its third-straight win Wednesday, racing past Cayuga Community College by a final of 85-68. With the win the Panthers are now 5-6 overall and 3-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Cayuga drops to 4-5 overall and 0-3 in the MSAC.
  • Postponed Games Rescheduled

    The men's and women's basketball games that were postponed by the storm this past weekend at Onondaga Community College have been rescheduled for Monday, January 28. The women will tip at 5 p.m. followed by the men at 7 p.m.

  • Panthers Roll Past Corning in Women's Basketball

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team ran out to a big early lead and never looked back Tuesday, cruising to a 58-31 win over Corning Community College in Mid-State Athletic Conference action. The win improves the Panthers to 4-6 overall and 2-2 in the MSAC. Corning falls to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in the MSAC.

    Five players scoring in double figures, including three who posted double-doubles, propelled the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team to a 65-53 win over SUNY Broome Saturday. The victory in the spring semester opener improves the Panthers record to 3-6 overall and 1-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome drops to 7-8 overall and 1-1 in the MSAC.

    With the College closed due to inclement weather, the home basketball games scheduled for Thursday, January 10 vs. Davis College have been cancelled. The games will not be rescheduled, meaning the next game for the Panthers will be Saturday, January 12 at home vs. SUNY Broome.
  • Panthers Out-Gunned at Hudson Valley

    The semester finale for the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team saw the Panthers fall victim to a long-range shooting assault, losing at Hudson Valley Community College 86-71. The Panthers head into the winter break with a record of 2-6 overall and 2-5 in Region III. Hudson Valley improves to 7-3 overall and 4-3 in the region.

    A tight game ended with the first road loss of the year for the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team Thursday, as the Panthers fell to Fulton-Montgomery Community College 65-55. The Panthers are now 2-4 overall and 2-3 in Region III. Fulton-Montgomery is 5-1 overall and 3-1 in Region III.

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team opened conference play on a down note Tuesday, dropping a home game against Jefferson Community College. The 73-53 final leave the Panthers with an overall record of 2-3 and a Region III record of 2-2.  Jefferson is now 4-2 overall, 2-1 in Region III, and 1-0 in the MSAC.
