Panthers Volleyball Returns to Action at Corning Pod

The Tompkins Cortland Community College volleyball team returned to action Saturday, taking part in the Region 3 pod hosted by Corning Community College. The Panthers had matches against SUNY Broome, Hudson Valley Community College, and SUNY Adirondack, dropping each in straight sets.

The Panthers lost to Broome 25-12, 25-16, 25-12. The Hudson Valley scores with 25-21, 25-19, 25-13. The day ended with Adirondack winning 25-13, 25-15, 25-19.

Ashley Hoyte (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) reached double figures in four stat categories with 14 digs, 13 assists, 13 kills, and 11 aces. Adrianna Royce (Newfield/Newfield H.S.) filled up the stat sheet with 21 digs, 14 assists, 9 kills, and 5 aces.

The Panthers are scheduled to host Broome for a Mid-State Athletic Conference match on Wednesday.
