Panthers Volleyball Winless at Broome Pod

After picking up wins in each of the last two Region III Pod meets, the Tompkins Cortland Community College volleyball team came up winless in the Pod hosted by SUNY Broome on Saturday. The Panthers lost to SUNY Adirondack, North Country Community College, and Hudson Valley Community College to drop to 2-10 on the season.

The losses to Hudson Valley (25-22, 25-16, 25-12) and Adirondack (25-21, 25-11, 25-14) came in straight sets, but the match with North Country went four sets. The Saints won the first two sets (25-18, 25-20) before the Panthers rallied to take the third (25-19). The rally ended in the fourth as North Country ended the match with a 25-15 win.

Sierra Stauber (McGraw/McGraw H.S.) led the attack with 11 kills while Natasha Feocco (Dryden/Newfield H.S.) handed out 34 assists and fired 4 aces. Madison Hartenstein (Newark Valley/Newark Valley H.S.) anchored the defense with 19 digs.

This Panthers return home Wednesday for a Mid-State Athletic Conference match with Finger Lakes Community College.
