The Tompkins Cortland Community College women's soccer team took to the field for a regular season game for the first time in 2024, traveling to Onondaga Community College on Saturday. The Panther couldn't keep up with the Lazers, falling by a final score of 13-1. Onondaga is now 2-0 on the season.
Starting the game shorthanded due to injuries, the Panthers fell behind early. Onondaga scored six goals in the first half, and then put another in the net in the opening minutes of the second half to lead 7-0. The Panthers got on the board in the 50th minute, with Emma Lobdell (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) taking a direct kick from just outside the box and beating the Onondaga keeper with her first scoring strike of the year. The Lazers tacked on more goals in the closing minutes to make the final 13-1.
Chloe Rocker (Dryden/McGraw H.S.) was busy in goal, finishing with 28 saves.
