The Tompkins Cortland women's soccer team picked a good time to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. Facing SUNY Adirondack in the regular season finale, the Panthers rolled to a 7-1 win, securing a place in the NJCAA Region III Tournament in the process. The Panthers end the regular season with a mark of 6-7-1, earning the #11 seed in the Region III playoffs. Tompkins Cortland will play at #6 North Country Community College Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Coming off a win at Jefferson Community College earlier in the week, the Panthers wasted no time in jumping ahead against Adirondack. Just 98 seconds into the game, Cristina Torres (Ellenville/Ellenville H.S.) found the back of the net off an assist from Mariah Howell (Port Byron/Dana L. West H.S.), Ten minutes later Brianna Allen (Marion/Marion H.S.) made it 2-0 off an assist from Jessica Fisk (Waterloo/Waterloo H.S.), and the Panthers were done for the half. After the break, the scoring resumed, and intensified. Morgan Lawrence (DeRuyter/DeRuyter H.S.) scored early in the second half, and then Elise Clavel (Ithaca/Lehman Alternative Community School) went off for four goals. Allen had two assists in the second half, and Torres, Shannon DeRosa (Poughquag/Arlington H.S.), and Paris Good (Syracuse/Ithaca H.S.) each had a helper.

Goalkeeper Kerrin O'Shaughnessy (Worcester/Worcester H.S.) had the win in goal with three saves.

The Panthers playoff game against North Country will be a rematch of the second game of the season. Playing the second game of the weekend road trip, and missing some players, the Panthers lost to the Saints 6-0.
