Panthers Roll to MSAC Win at Broome

Three players in double-figures led the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's basketball team to a solid win Sunday as the Panthers beat SUNY Broome 63-36. The win improves Tompkins Cortland to 7-5 overall and 1-2 in the Mid-State Athletics Conference while Broome falls to 2-13 overall and 0-2 in the MSAC.

The Panthers wasted little time taking control, running to a 15-5 lead after the first quarter. The score stood at 28-20 at the half, but a big third quarter saw the Panthers stretch the lead to 54-26 heading into the final quarter.

Jaida Washington (Elmira/Elmira H.S.) had another big game with a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds, along with 7 blocks and 3 steals. Taylor Day (Brooktondale/Ithaca H.S.) poured in 18 points while grabbing 4 boards and MacKenzie Kenyon (Ovid/South Seneca H.S.) scored 13 points and swiped a team-best 5 steals.

The Panthers travel to Corning Tuesday to take on the Red Barons.
