The Tompkins Cortland Community College softball team dropped a doubleheader at Hudson Valley Community College on Thursday. Tompkins Cortland falls to 0-12 on the season. Hudson Valley is now 11-10 on the season.

Game One: Niagara 17, Tompkins Cortland 0  (5 innings)

For the second straight game, the Panthers were held hitless. The Viking put the game away early, scoring all 17 runs over the course of the first two innings.

Game Two: Hudson Valley 15, Tompkins Cortland 1  (5 innings)

The Vikings continued to roll on the offensive end in game two, scoring in the first inning and building their lead quickly. On the offensive side, after four more innings without a base runner, the Panthers finally put someone on in the fifth inning of game two. Hudson Valley had piled up 15 runs at that point, but the Panthers continued to fight in the fifth. Abby Villnave (Homer/Homer H.S.) led off with a single. After two strikeouts, Kari Mosher (Horesheads/Horseheads H.S.) came through with a single to get the Panthers on the board for the only time all afternoon.

Looking ahead

The Panthers are set to play at SUNY Adirondack on Saturday.
