A loss in the first round of the NJCAA Region 3 playoffs spelled the end of the season for the Tompkins Cortland Community College men's soccer team. Sunday's 6-2 defeat at the hands of Finger Lakes Community College ends the seasons for the Panthers with a record of 5-6-4. Finger Lakes advances in the Region 3 playoffs with a record of 7-7-0.

It was wild start to the game, as Finger Lakes scored twice in the first four minute. Just five minutes later, Moussa Nomoko (Johannesburg, South Africa/Rand Preparatory) got the Panthers on the board off an assist from George Dickinson (Castleford, England/Ackworth School). After the early outburst, neither team would score the rest of the first half, leaving the score 2-1 at the break.

It took less than a minute of the second half for the Panthers to even things up, with Kytrell Stroman (Elmira/Elmira H.S.) finding the net off another assist from Dickinson.  The Lakers recaptured the lead seven minutes later, and then put the game away with three scores in a ten-minute span late in the game.

Despite a huge advantage in shots for the home team, Tompkins Cortland keeper Jack Phelan (Rockville Centre/South Side H.S.) kept the game close until the very end, finishing with 14 saves.
