The Tompkins Cortland Community College men's soccer team dug too big of a hole early, eventually falling 4-1 to Jefferson Community College on Wednesday. The home loss drops the Panthers to 5-3-2 overall and 0-2-0 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Jefferson 5-6 overall and 3-3 in the MSAC.

The visiting Lakers got on the board first, flipping a shot in the box over the Tompkins Cortland keeper to make it 1-0 in the ninth minute of play. George Dickinson (Castleford, England/Ackworth School) scored the equalizer, cashing in on a free kick from 30 yards out by bending the ball into the upper 90, just over the keeper's outstretched hand. The goal came with 14 minutes left in the half, and the score held into the break.

Things went downhill in the second half. Finger Lakes broke the tie with a goal ten minutes into the half, and added another less than two minutes later. The final score came in the 68th minute, essentially sealing the win for the visitors.

Tompkins Cortland keeper Jeremy McGrath (Henderson Harbor/Belleville Henderson H.S.) recorded five saves on the day.
