Playing on a hot Wednesday afternoon, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men's soccer team overwhelmed Erie Community College, winning the NJCAA Region 3 contest 6-0. The Panthers are now 2-0-1 overall and 2-0-0 in Region 3. Erie falls to 0-3-0 both overall and in region.

It took a bit for the scoring to get underway, but once it did, it didn't stop. In the 32nd minute, George Dickinson (Castleford, England/Ackworth School) broke the ice, followed by a goal from Moussa Nomoko (Johannesburg, South Africa/Rand Preparatory School) in the 41st minute to make it 2-0 at the half. Second-half goals from Victor Santos (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/SESI Emilia Massanti), Kytrell Stroman (Elmira/Elmira H.S.), Russell Wright (Pine City/Elmira H.S.), and Nate Freelove (Corning/Corning-Painted Post H.S.) provided the final margin.

Jack Phelan (Rockville Centre/South Side H.S.) and Jeremy McGrath (Henderson Harbor/Belleville Henderson H.S.) split time in goal, each recording a save in the combined shutout.

Looking ahead
