Second-Straight Loss to National Power for Panthers Men

For the second straight game, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men's soccer team hosted a nationally ranked team. On Thursday, #5-ranked Mohawk Valley Community College came the Dryden, and the result was a 6-0 win for the visitors. Tompkins Cortland is now 2-4 overall and 2-3 in Region 3, with losses coming to three of the top four ranked teams in the region. Mohawk Valley improves to 4-0 overall and in region.

The Hawks put the first score on the board in the 9th minute of play, and then made it 2-0 late in the half. The lead doubled in the first dozen minutes of the second half, and then grew to 5-0 in the 63rd minute. A goal in the closing minutes made the final margin 6-0.

Jeremy McGrath (Henderson Harbor/Belleville Henderson H.S.) had a nine saves in goal for the Panthers.

The Panthers have a non-region scrimmage on the road Sunday with the Elmira College B team.
