Men's Soccer Shutout at Home

The Tompkins Cortland men's soccer team was shutout at home Monday, falling 3-0 to SUNY Broome. The Panthers have now been held scoreless six times this year while posting a record of 2-10 overall and 1-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome is 6-6-2 overall and 3-2 in the MSAC.

The visiting Hornets had opportunities early, but Panthers keeper Dylon Conklin (Moravia/Southern Cayuga H.S.) had five saves before a breakaway for Broome produced the first score in the 36th minute of play. Both teams had chances over the final ten minutes of the half, but neither could convert, leaving the score at 1-0 at the break.

It was a one-goal game until midway through the second half, when scored in the 65th minute. The capper cam in the 72nd minute, making the final 3-0.

Conklin posted eight saves while allowing two of the goals. Jonathan Marchello (Lake George/Lake George H.S.) played the final 24:09 in goal, allowing one score.

The Panthers play at Jefferson Community College on Wednesday.
