Panthers Lacrosse Drops Home Game to #3 CCBC Essex

The Tompkins Cortland Community College men's lacrosse team returned to action Sunday after two weeks off, hosting #3-ranked Community College of Baltimore County Essex. The visiting Knights lived up to their ranking, rolling to a 31-1 win. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-2 while Essex improves to 4-1.

Essex scored nine goals in each of the first two quarters to take an 18-0 lead into the half. The Panthers got on the board in the third quarter, with Louie Profetta (Ontario/Wayne H.S.) taking a pass from Nick McCabe (Binghamton/Chenango Forks H.S.) and depositing it in the net, making the score 18-1. Essex finished out the third with seven goals before tacking on six more in the fourth.

Goalie Matt Nichols (Waverly/Waverly H.S.) had 24 saves.

The Panthers return to Region 3 play Wednesday at Mohawk Valley Community College.
