Panthers credited with win due to Monroe forfeit. Story below is from the game prior to the forfeit being awarded.

Playing at home for the first time this season, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men's lacrosse team fell into an early hole and could never recover, losing 22-9 to Monroe Community College. The Panthers are now 0-2 on the season; it was the first game of the year for Monroe.

A goal in the first minute of play by Logan Swartz (Cortland/Homer H.S.) had the Panthers on the board first, but the lead didn't last. Over the next 25 minutes of play, the Tribunes went on a 9-0 run to take a commanding lead. Nick McCabe (Binghamton/Chenango Forks H.S.) snapped the skid with a goal with 3:16 left in the half, and sparked a mini-run for the home team. Scoring two more goals in the final two minutes, the Panther trailed 11-4 at the break.

A McCabe goal to start the third made it 11-5, but Monroe scored four straight to push the lead to 15-5 midway through the third. The spread grew to 19-7 by the end of the third, and would get no closer through the fourth.

Three Panthers notched three points, with Swartz leading the way with three goals. Louie Profetta (Ontario/Wayne H.S.) had two goals and an assist and Kenyen Lovett (Rochester/West Irondequoit H.S.) had a goal and two assists. McCabe finished with two goals and Odanell Gonzalez (Queens/Jamaica H.S.) had a goal. Dustan McCormick (Ontario/Wayne H.S.) chipped in with an assist while winning 12 faceoffs.
